LAZERIAN X BRUICHLADDICH

In celebration of Earth Day, Bruichladdich Distillery and Lawless Studio have partnered with LAZERIAN Studio to create a sustainable art sculpture. The piece, titled Message in a Bottle, opens on 24th April in Borough Yards, where it will stay up for two weeks. Its mission is to remind its audience that daily actions really do make a difference, no matter how small. Following Bruichladdich’s mantra to “believe in thinking big and starting small”, viewers are able to see the positive impact of their actions through this interactive art installation.

A layered and multi-dimensional piece, Message in a Bottle represents the circular economy and encourages thoughtful discussion on our impact and the future of the environment. Seemingly a 2-meter bottle holding a plastic tree, its strong visual presence draws its audience in to take a closer look. It was designed using seed paper and durable PET materials, made of melted down recycled plastic bottles to reduce waste in an inspiring and meaningful way. As interactive as it is beautiful, it invites people to write a promise on seeded paper and drop it in the bottle, representing renewal and the beauty of growth. As the environmentally friendly paper’s seeds grow into wildflowers, we are reminded of how important it is to protect the natural environment around us.
